In Chinese Characters, many times individual, basic characters are combined to create different meanings. Some are very sensible, such as using the symbol for man 3 times, meaning a crowd.
"Good" is written as house + wife because years ago, a man's success was based off his ability to support a wife, family, and home.

If you write the character for woman twice, it means quarrel.
